Mom and Sisters Visit June 2012

It was really teriffic to have Mom and my sisters Patty and Becky and brother-in-law Hal come to Vermont to visit us.

In this first picture we are standing just outside the door of the residence.  We had just finished listening to Mike tell about some of the special experiences we have had here.

Hal and Becky drove out from Arizona in their van and picked up mom and Patty at the airport in Boston.  They spent the night in Boston and drove to Sharon the next day.

They decided to do a church history tour.  After they left Vermont, they went to Palmyra, New York, then Kirtland, Ohio, and they were headed to Nauvoo, Illinois the last time I talked to them.

We had a great time.  We spent most of the day (last Sunday) touring the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial.  Mike drove us around in our special golf cart.  It was a lot of fun.  The weather was beautiful, the flowers were lovely, and the company was the best!
We hope you are all having as much fun as we are.  Have a GREAT summer!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT'S JUNE

WOW!  How time flies.  It's June!  This picture (above) was taken last week when we were getting flower beds ready to plant.  Don't you love my golf cart.  I wish I could bring it home with me.  The second picture was taken a few days ago when we were planting flowers.  I love the hat, but it's not mine either.  It was left by another sister and I adopted it (while I am here).  We have been planting flowers for about a week now.  We love the days when it's not raining on us. We've been getting rain just about every day some time during the day.  Luckily the only day when it rained ALL day was Saturday.
Sister Patsy Starley is the one in the sunglasses and baseball cap.  She has 8 children and a bunch of grandchildren (she told me how many but I am doing good to remember how many WE have).  In this picture she is dipping the flower packs into miracle grow water just before we plant them.

Sister Lorraine Vernon arrived in May.  She and her husband are amazing. They served a mission in Guana, Africa.  They have some amazing experiences to tell. Lorraine is the one wearing the straw hat by the peonies.  By the way aren't the peonies beautiful.  I LOVE the rock-work here too. I wish I could bring home a truck full of rocks.
Well it was a beautiful day today.  We have planted blue ageratums, marigolds, white and purple alyssum, impatiens, purple petunias, pink petunias, dusty millers, phlox, salvia, and a few others that I can't remember the names of at the moment.  I hope some of you are having fun playing in your gardens this summer.  Love to everyone.
